Overall

  • Typography: moving away from serif font — using Gotham font now
  • Logo is a bit small in the header - maybe right align the logo
  • Maybe don’t pair the blue with the green in the headers
  • Title all upper case might not be the best

Map:

  • Could use Centre theme: https://data.humdata.org/group - can get access from Yumi
  • Black stroke around the admin 0 could be a bit thinner
  • “Normal color” blends in
  • Legend might suggest that things are continuous — could switch to buckets that are a bit more discrete
  • More succinct title on legend
  • Put background on the admin name hover, maybe also put the country name
  • Lag when changing admin levels — add indicator
  • Label above the dropdown

Charts

  • Chose default location
  • Add title to the chart - y axis could be the chart title
  • “Date” axis label not necessary — could just do the month
  • Take a look at chart guidelines in the style guide - eg. don’t usually use the tick marks
  • Using black? Average line could be different color
  • Number of lines - maybe don’t display them all on first view - color more suggestive that it’s an active line?
  • Consider contrast between background and text color on hovers - generally update the hover text
  • Resent button for the chart

Side panel

  • Panel could be collapsible
  • Format the date to be more readable
  • Data sources: each one its own line — could just have colons.
  • Also indication of data freshness
  • In resources, don’t need to say “here”
  • Also put the country name
