At least the spacing issue I've solved. I just wasn't selecting a different skin, then reloading the one I was working on. main_text_padding did the trick. |

Greetings! Got a few Skin Editing and OpenShell-in-General questions!
I'm working on modding the included Immersive skin to serve my needs. Because, with the way I have it configured in the options, it cuts off my username text, along with the shutdown button text. (See my first screenshot) I know I can add spaces followed by "&" to trick the menu into widening out to fit everything, but that seems to muck with the vertical spacing of that text relative to the shutdown icon.
So I'm editing a copy of the skin for myself. I have Resource Hacker. And Compiling/Saving does work, as I've been able to change the "About" text, and get it to show up correctly. But changing the main_padding seems to do nothing. I could change the right padding from 7 to 700, and the menu doesn't widen by a pixel!
My second question involves sub menus. Take a look at the screenshot, see how the sub menu overlaps the main menu by a few pixels? How do I change that so that sub menus sit flush against the main menu with no overlap, nor any gaps?
My final question involves grouping items. I'd like to be able to sort out my programs into categories like "Audio", "Imaging", "Games",
"Utilities" etc. With both programs and Windows apps. I know I can't make a combined Programs and Apps folder, at least not one that I can then sort. So I planned on placing the main programs and apps directories under a sub menu, along with a link to the OpenShell settings. But I want my main menu to have those categories. How can I accomplish this? Just make a folder somewhere and move a ton of shortcuts around? I saw a screenshot somewhere in my searches that suggested this was possible.
I've searched for all this stuff, but haven't been able to find any answers that seem to work for me.
(At least I got my green start button to work right! XD
Thanks in advance!
