This is a heads up that many of the 21 layers for the NHGIS census data have incorrect dates. The dates in the titles don't always match the web service date. When the FGDC metadata is transformed to Solr for OGP or GBL, most of the dates are 1830 or 1900, regardless of the date for the web service.

In Harvard's OGP, you can search for originator "University of Minnesota. Minnesota Population Center" to see the same issue.
For the Big Ten Geoportal, I just manually changed the dates in the titles and date fields. You can see the (corrected, I think) results here: https://geo.btaa.org/?page=1&per_page=20&q=nhgis&search_field=all_fields&sort=dc_title_sort+asc
