I figured this is best submitted as a feature request rather than a bug? Moving an analog stick with the analog add-on is not producing any keyboard output in keyboard mode. There are software solutions but it'd be nice if the joystick could handle it.
Solution
Perhaps an additional section in the analog add-on for how to handle keyboard output, such as 4-way vs 8-way, angles so that diagonals could be made wider or more narrow, triggering threshold for dead zone, and perhaps a triggering threshold for an additional modifier key (Such as pressing shift to run when you're near the edges, but not when you're near the middle)
Do you plan to work on this feature yourself?
I will be considering it. I'm making a custom thumbstick that goes on the bottom of the keyboard. For now I'm going to be making my OpenSCAD / STL files presentable and ready to publish first and then perhaps take a look at how to modify GP2040-CE.
(Here's a little video of the prototype if anyone's curious https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/85ebce64-5f43-4baf-a595-f423871959c6)
