Some more info on this:
Blazegraph adds at least two triples for rdfs:subPropertyOf
one where it declares that the subject is rdfs:type rdfs:Property and one where it declares the subject is rdfs:subPropertyOf itself. Since the object of this second triple is a copy of the subject, it's not a string value.
If this is then loaded into an edit form, a string version of the reflexive triple gets added and once it gets saved, the garbage-y triple gets added as well.
So I tried deleting the development namespace, and creating it again with two of the properties turned off and that seemed to have fixed the inference problem. Now the problem is, to use this solution, we'll need to create a new namespace, and copy all of the data over to it.
