As you may have seen in Oxalis public roadmap that we are planning to upgrade to Java 17 (LTS) version. That is Oxalis is going to provide compile time support to Java 17. Though that does not necessarily mean that we are going to use all latest features of Java 17 but we will in due course and this is just a start.
If you are using Tomcat Servlet container then you also need to make use of Tomcat version 10 to make that work (For more details, refer: https://tomcat.apache.org/whichversion.html)
We are going to use Java 17 in Oxalis version 6.x i.e. upcoming major release. With this release, there will not be backward compatibility with earlier Oxalis version. That is we are Not going to maintain Oxalis version supporting lower java versions (<Java 17)
