Are personal contact forms used? Generally we disable core contact form (including personal contact forms) and do something a little fancier with webform.

Because it was enabled on the new site i thought it was enabled on the Drupal 7 sites, but it appears not to be, on STS at least, so we will disable personal contact forms now and put this as a For Future Consideration feature.

Note that neither STS Infrastructures nor WorldPECE.org appear to have public contact forms either.
