Is this Python 2/3? The print statements are very odd and other syntax as well.

I would no longer use this repository. Use the Pirates Online Classic repository (the game source code there is almost entirely complete). And yes, it's Python 2.7, there is talk about upgrading Pirates Online Classic to Python 3. There is also everything you need for Pirates Online Classic on the Github organization.
