How do people render out a whole minecraft world with this mod?

Recently, there's been videos, like this one, where people render entire minecraft worlds.
I would say I have a relatively beefy PC, GTX 1650, and I try and change my settings to match the ones used, (setting LOD levels to 22) and It never feasibly gets past two LOD levels. Am I doing anything wrong?
Should I generate with CubicChunks as default, or off?

World type needs to be custom cubic (or flat cubic) , otherwise, terrain is generated with the normal generator and then simplified, which is far slower.

Ahh, thank you! I was generating with default, and now it loads significantly faster.

in the video comments he states he is using CubicChunks. If you're not, it's just not going to work that well. I get about a thousand blocks out with vanilla rendering and that's assuming I've already generated those chunks.
