Actually, in the project organisation, it's explained how to become a maintainer or a commiter.

I know that a role is currently in progress for documentation :

But a lot of roles are not documented :

  • Product Managers
  • UX Designers
  • Issue Managers
  • Software Testers
  • Wording Manager
  • User Documentation Managers
  • Technical Documentation Managers

This is impossible to document right now, as the project's governance is still a matter of discussion. I'm sure we'll get it handled when the time comes. Thank you for creating the issue.

Have you got a discussion or an issue about the project's gouvernance ?

Because it should be announced at the end of 2022, like we said to @friendsofpresta community.

There's no news regarding this subject at the moment. Rest assured that if there's something, we'll communicate :)

As per the new organization we are intentionally not creating a black-on-white guide on how to apply for a given role. Why? because by experience we can't foresee all the requisites beforehand, and it's never easy to turn down people who thought were ready but weren't.

I think that the best way to approach this problem is to encourage people to help in any of the many possible ways that don't require special rights. People who help out enough will naturally be spotted, and eventually will be invited to participate in a more important role, if we think they can do it.
