I'd be curious to hear more about people using Julia for research software. A few topic ideas could be:

Differences between Julia and other programming languages used for research software (Python, R, Rust, etc.)
When does some code starts to be too slow that it's worth considering switching to Julia (or something else)?
Strength of Julia beyond only speed but more as a general purpose programming language
