Language of the material may also be recorded in coded form in the LANGCODE attribute in the <language> subelement using the ISO 639-2b three-letter language codes.

  • I see that an ISO 639-3 file has been added to the repo via the linked commit: f069085 (but this needs to be updated annually as the ISO639-3 standard updates on an annual basis)

Thanks, @HughP. We'll keep the Tag Library description in mind.

@fordmadox - could you please check, with regard to Hugh's point about the annual update of ISO639-3, that Schematron uses the most up to date version? The linked commit currently points to the version from February 2021, so we might already want to update this in the context of finalising Schematron for EAC-CPF 2.0.

In general, if I'm not mistaken, we've got the regular updates to these external standards covered in our design principles.
