btpsa and accounts registered under SAP Universal ID

Situation

As reported in issue #188 you might face issues with SAP BTP accounts (e.g., SAP BTP Trial accounts) registered with SAP Universal ID when trying to authenticate in a btpsa run.

Reason

btpsa uses several CLIs under the hood like the BTP CLI. Unfortunately some of those CLIs do not support authentication via SAP Universal ID and therefor the authentication flow fails. However, there is a workaround available (see next section.

Workaround

Follow the guidance provided in the SAP Note 3085908 - "Getting an error (e.g. invalid credentials) in certain applications (e.g. SAP Download Manager) when using S-user ID or SAP Universal ID" to do the authentication flow.

Solution

There is no solution available yet, so we advice to use the workaround for the time being.
