Would it be possible to set a location in room's setting and then have a way to browse on a map room surrounding a user?

I'm not aware of any mechanism in the Matrix spec that enables such feature, and it sounds like it would be out of scope for SchildiChat.

Matrix do love to put the cart before the horse...

A work around for this is probably to put your nearest city into your rooms description and then search that way... if that's what people want to do. You won't get the fine detail of map searching but it should do the job.

The search function does check the description, but I'm not sure how case sensitive it is.
