Possible tweaks to revenant:

Basing it more off of a mythological revenant

Can spawn with armor
Does not burn in sunlight, but is extra weak to fire anyways
Glowing red eyes, similar to the spider
Faster than a normal zombie
Has a certain amount of natural armor
Can drain health (?)
Drops rotten flesh on death
Will attack villagers, like the vanilla zombies, but will not convert them (?)
Can spawn with a random buff
New texture

I'll leave models and textures to you. The current version is based on the 1980's classic D&D boxed sets, specifically the companion set, where they are described as looking like a zombie, but much tougher, faster, and smarter and with a poison touch and a pouncing attack. (I'm not considering their spell like powers). Of course, if I based it completely on that it would simply despawn during the day (at which point they were invisible, incorporeal, and harmless spirits). But, it was also a practice mob to get my feet wet, which is why at this point it actually is a zombie (extends EntityZombie). A random buff would be interesting.

Currently, their speed is about twice that of a normal zombie, and they jump and wither (the poison). In being zombies they can spawn with gear, as babies, or even as villagers (the babies don't wither, though, at this point, since the speed gets crazy).

I'll think about this.
