Should denoising strength really be affecting the number of steps ?

Hi,

I misunderstood the denoising strength as some kind of parameter affecting the strength of update at each step.

But it is actually a multiplication factor affecting the number of steps, and that is it's true original intent, as explained in #863

However it also impacts the update strength at each step, as described in AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui#193 (comment)

So it seems that this parameter has 2 effects. Maybe that could be disentangled into two distinct parameters ? Maybe it is too late and I ask this for nothing ? Maybe nobody cares ? Even though At least 3 people (including me) were disturbed by that feature.
