We need to formalize the invocation count machinery and make it accessible via the test command:

  • Replace current implementation with Proxy? Or at least review it for accuracy and completeness
  • Adjust flag / configuration of tracking invocation counts so we can set/alter that flag from the command line
  • Integrate setting the flag with the CLI test command (which probably changes how reporting is done as well)
