Is Slicing possible for 3d elivation?

I just want to know is it possible to slices on the XY plane into the number of layers i.e, for example, an area with a peak elevation or depth elevation of 100 m high or deep, can be cut into 2 or more layers like 4 or 5 layers like 0-20m, 21-40m, 41-60m, 61-80m, 81-100m, etc. and then saved as STL files. and also when the STL file created at that time can we fixed the size of the output STL model in a fixed dimension like 20cm X 20cm for selected any area with any box size.
