Dear TreeBASE team,

I’m contacting you on behalf of FAIRsharing[1], the online registry of scientific data standards, databases and policies. Our aim is to make your resource as visible as possible to as large an audience as possible.

We have a FAIRsharing record for your resource[2]. To ensure our information is as correct and up to date as possible, would you or someone from your team quickly scan the record[2] and ‘claim’ it? (To claim, see link [3] below.)

While your Twitter feed is active at @TreeBASE, it looks like the database's website and GitHub repository haven't been updated recently, and we would like to know the current status of the repository. I have also had intermittent issues loading the search page of the site. If it is no longer active, we can mark the FAIRsharing record as deprecated. However, it is still advisable to claim the record so that users can get in touch with you if they have any questions. If we don’t hear from you within a couple of weeks, we will mark the status of your resource as Uncertain within FAIRsharing.

Claiming a record as either a group or an individual also gives you the opportunity to make changes to the record yourself, allowing you complete control over how your resource is displayed in FAIRsharing. Maintainers are also notified if our curation team edits the record, if users ask questions, or if the record is linked from another record, such as from a journal publisher data policy. In addition, if you claim a record(s) as an individual, you can link the record to your ORCID.

FAIRsharing is about making your resource discoverable to a variety of users, such as journals and publishers, researchers and service providers, research and infrastructure projects and programmes, as well as curators, librarians, funders and other policy makers and data scientists[4]. A contact is essential should they have any questions about your resource.

Thank you and best wishes,
Allyson

Thanks very much Rutger,

I have updated the TreeBASE record based on your information (https://fairsharing.org/biodbcore-000539/). If you have the chance, I'd appreciate it if you would take a quick look and suggest any further changes that might be required. Additionally, you might wish to claim the record and make such edits directly (see my previous message for details of how to do that). Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks again, and best wishes,
Allyson
