Out of Memory Exception on load.

I tried booting up the scene that is included in this project and run it but I immediately got an out of memory exception so I wasn't even able to test it. I am running this through a vm that only has 4g ram and 2 cores of processing power, is that just not enough for this project or is there something else going on that I'm missing?

This might be a stupid question, but the VM has a 64 bit OS installed,
right?

It does have a 64 bit OS on it. I was playing around with it and I installed unity on the base machine instead of the VM and it was able to run with the i7, 8g ram machine without issue, so I think the lack of power was the only issue for it.
