We work with a limitation of the possible range, depending on the user level. If a user sets a start date, they do not see how wide their possible range is. Internally, the datepicker does not allow a date to be selected outside of the range, but it would be helpful if it could be displayed to the user as with min and max dates.
It would be conceivable if the user selects a start date, which marks the possible dates with a CSS class. Then it would be possible to gray out the dates outside the range. Without a start date or defined range, everything works as usual.
