Perhaps more a balance issue than a bug but not sure if intended.
Twin assault gun and twin assault cannon are a 100% replacement for the single version and have no penalties.
Having something twice as big for no additional weight however doesn't sound logical, would it make sense to have those as a firepower for mobility trade-off side-grade instead of a direct replacement?

Agreed, at least SOME additional weight needs to be applied.

Yes and from there the concept could be expanded, like twin HMG or twin mini rocket.

We should boost TAG to the stratosphere with a 2-2.5x damage increase after all upgrades. Still won't beat a TAC/TK army but will feel much more nice (and not be worse than Flashlight for all that lab occupation to upgrade MGs to the max).

Just a tought, given we have the Plasma Cannon... what if for the MG line the final weapon is a 50 .cal minigun? A sudden 2-2.5x damage increase is huge, while a final clear new weapon may give more of a distinction and damage scaling between. It would have very high ROF.
I'd have it charge the attack and fire in a burst somewhat like the mini-rocket pod.
The tricky part I assume would be having a barrel spinning animation prior to the shooting animation.

Then is the case of making the design and importing to WZ using WMIT or 3DS2PIE.

Technically you wouldn't need a new animation, just take inspiration from real life metalstorm.
