Version check reports wrong version when Warzone 4.5.3 is installed #4070

Describe the bug
When clicking on the Check for a newer version icon in the starting screen, it goes to a web page saying a newer version is available when it is the latest version

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start warzone 2100 version 4.5.3
  2. Click on the icon that looks like a keyhole

Expected behavior
It should open a web page saying the latest version is already installed

Hi,

That appears to be a build produced and packaged by someone else / a downstream repo? If the version check is yielding 4.5.0, there appears to be an issue with whatever sources they used and/or how it was built.

I’d recommend uninstalling that build, and installing either the official .deb (i.e. warzone2100_ubuntu22.04_amd64.deb in the latest release), the Snap, or the Flatpak.
