This page would explain a bit about GitHub as a platform, how it enables for asynchronous and volunteer contributions from a diverse assortment of stakeholders and enthusiasts, and would establish the commitment to open source and community values. I think we could also have a call-to-action or a help wanted section on this page to try and entice or incite visitors to come and help us out as we keep building.
