Blank Screen on file select

When I boot up the app on my Ace3DS Flashcart I get a blank screen when I try to navigate the file selection screen.

I have a r4i sdhc rts lite and a have a blank screen

i have the same problem on my dsi console

same just says "[B] Go back [X] Start selection" [b] brings me to the main menu [x] just toggles between start and end selection.

EDIT: im on an original dsi
