The site admins have made it so image thumbnails now link out to the is2.4chan.org origin. This origin does not contain the actual image, it merely redirects you to i.4cdn.org which has the real image data.

Now, why would 4chan direct you first to some bullshit origin before redirecting you to the actual image? Your guess is as good as mine, although I would probably bet it's related to tracking or data mining, something like that.

All you need to do to bypass this is rewrite the is2.4chan.org origin to i.4cdn.org. There are a lot of methods to do this, one is just modifying your hosts file.
