After sending about 200 iMessages per hour for 3 hours (different recipients at 90%), I couldn't send any new imessage even to myself. Is there any known limit on messages we can send per hour/day etc?
Please note that the next day it worked again.

Hi, I'm not aware of specific limits, but it's more than likely that Apple has rate-limiting on their end to prevent spam. I unfortunately don't have any insight into what the limits are. Your best bet would be to try different rates to determine what an acceptable rate is.
I know this is an old thread but I want to share my experience for posterity.
Apple has pretty good spam-detection features. I've had my iMessage/FaceTime privileges revoked twice. Contacting Apple Support will get you a link to a website where you can submit a request to have your iCloud account unblocked. No idea what the spam detection rules are My guess is high volume of messages out on a regular timeframe with very few messages in. Also if anyone reports you as spam, that's bad too.
