Extend information in notification mails

Hi all,

we have received the following improvement request in our Moodle support team.
I would like to forward it to you and would appreciate if you could consider it in your roadmap planning:

The messages to participants about changes in the booked slots are missing some of the information regarding the slot.

Instead of the full information given when an appointment is set or cancelled, participants only receive a short statement that they were moved into a slot from the waiting list, without the full information about the slot they were waiting for.

This is somewhat strange, since it is possible that participants have more than one appointment with multiple planning instances and thus have no idea which slot they were moved into.

We would suggest to include all pertinent information in all outgoing messages to the participants (especially including information about the trainers and the location) or even create a possibility to individualize the outgoing messages on the activity or site administration level.

Messages to the participants could be as follows:

Dear <user name>,

You have <made/cancelled/changed> an appointment in "<course name>"

The details of the slot are as follows:

Date: <Date>
Time: <Time>
Location: <Location>
Location URL: <Location URL>
Trainer: <Trainer>
Duration: <Duration>

If you want to change or see your appointment please follow this link <link to slot>

This setting would help us to use the organizer as a tool to organize several workshops at a time, using the location field as a replacement title. Thank you very much for your help.

Hey Alex, thanks for reporting - I will include the request in our roadmap for 4.0. I think it's a good idea to have a possibility to individualize the outgoing message. We will see, if we allow the change on instance level or site administration level.
