Currently the demo loading experience is a bit hurky-jerky. The progress bar only updates when a full dataset is loaded, so for large files, it takes a while... so much so that in some cases (e.g., Firefox), the browser thinks the tab has crashed.

We should figure out a better way to track progress during data loading.
