The latest released version of aiida-core (v2.6.3) lists the required version of psycopg2-binary as ~=2.8. I have been using 2.9.X for some time, seemingly without issues, due to better support for the recent version of PostgreSQL in my Linux distro. Are there any critical incompatibilities known for aiida-core with psycopg2-binary 2.9.X or is fine to use this version?

On the main branch psycopg is already bumped to 3.0 so you can just wait for the next release (2.7) which should happen reasonably soon.
