This is not that easy. There are extra libraries needed for it. For now only kde supports it. Transparency is possible. Blur is way too specific and complicated. If you know better let me know. |

Rewrite? 😄🤯 Which tech do you think is better? Qt does its job perfectly fine. Abstraction and performancewise. I think the problem is not up to a techstack but to the differences in desktops. This is not just macos |

Closing since this is actually not the time to implement this. maybe if GNOME has this feature some years it may make sense to try to lazy load KDE or GNOME libs to use their compositor blur feature ,but atm its probably not worth the hassle |

Right now it is not possible to change the transparency or blur effect of the background. But I think it would look much more modern if there was such options.
Here we can compare it with MacOS spotlight. I think the Spotlight on Mac looks much more modern because of the nice background effect.
