How do I install a plugin?

Is there a repo with plugins that I can use?
How can I install those plugins?

Albert does not make it easy to install third party plugins. This is a design decision.

1. UX: less of a mess and no duplicates.
2. Security: less chance of executing malicious code
3. Quality: polished plugins and less code rot.
4. Collab: we use to talk about implementations. Everybody is welcome.
5. Distribution: native plugins are compiled libraries which have to be built for several environments and architectures. Getting them upstream in the project CICD is less of a hassle for devs. But also python plugins distributions is easy going when pushed upstream.

Besides that you can still install third party plugins in your plugin dir (DATADIR/albert/python/plugins). But I'd not recommend to do it. Rather get plugin dev to push their plugins upstream.
