How to specify a GPU for drawing the UI?

I recently upgraded my hardware from AMD R7 5700G to 7950X, and noticed albert UI became significantly slower. Looking at CPU usage there's nothing wrong, but I saw GPU usage spike to 100% when the UI is slow. I heard that 5700G has higher spec'ed GPU than 7950X, so I guess maybe this is the bottleneck; I also have a 1080Ti on this machine, but not connected to any display. Can I tell albert to use the 1080Ti for drawing the UI, despite the display is on integrated GPU?

This is nothing special to Albert. Please ask the community, gpt or the internet. I have never tried such things.

Thanks, I tried https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/nvidia-prime/-/blob/main/prime-run and it used the NV card successfully. Still slow, however.

Is this an issue of the qml frontend particularly? I mean does the widgetsboxmodel (which is not based on opengl) suffer this issue as well?

Ah yes, widgetsboxmodel is butter smooth. Btw I compared again carefully, using nvidia prime does speed up the qml frontend a lot, but I suspect my compositor (picom) may be slowing it down a bit, so the result is still not very smooth.

I recommend to use wbm at this point. It is probably going to be the sole frontend in future anyway if we want to get deeper UI integration of the plugins.
