I’m only able to turn on or turn off the switch once everytime I restart homebridge. I can do that once either from homebridge or from my phone, so for instance if the device was off, I can click on it from my phone or homebridge and turn it on, after that, it becomes unresponsive. The device is being discovered by the device ID, no need for manual ip input. anyone else facing this issue? im on the latest version of homebridge-shelly

If you really talking about a Shelly 1L, this is not a NG device and therefore not related to this plugin.
The plugin for handling Gen1 devices (including 1L) is homebridge-shelly.
If you talk about a Gen1 device, regarding your problem… take a look at this wiki page. It explains some details about CoAP and the multicast/unicast messages, which are important for Gen1 status updates. Your issue sounds like the behavior mentioned here…
