A compatibility layer could be created to (without any code changes) add Linux support. It may be choppy but doable.

I am working on a compatibility layer. This issue goes out there to people who want to use Newtrodit, please give me time. You will be using Newtrodit soon.

Newtrodit-LCL is in progress, and I'm trying to make new Newtrodit builds compatible with Newtrodit-LCL. I'm working on finishing Newtrodit 0.6 now, because I want to release it as soon as possible.
