Orbstack is now officially out of beta btw. it is not the only product allowing x86, UTM is another example. I would advise to still do your tests on arm based vms or containers when possible as the performance difference is huge. The general UX and usage of orbstack is indeed very easy and it has a good way of talking to it to automate certain items. Though I am still waiting for this issues to be resolved to give me more flexibility to create molecule configs: orbstack/orbstack#583 |

Although Orbstack is still in beta, it is the first product to show promise with running x86 virtual machines using Rosetta 2 on MacOS. The usual workflow for testing ansible playbooks on MacOS using x86 virtual machines has basically been broken since Apple switched to M-chips, and this would fill that gap.
It has a shiny UI, and CLI syntax similar to Vagrant.
