clicking the Autocomplete suggesion of an existing page not working

Problem
When I create a reference to a page, e.g. [[Welcome]] and while typing [[Wel the dropdown search shows the corresponding page Welcome, clicking the Welcome in the dropdown list does not result in the link completing and does not link to the Welcome page.
Instead, it creates a new page called Wel
