If you use a special character you get the error message "The password must include both uppercase and lowercase characters" which is not helpful.

Ohh sorry, miss understood the issue at first.
Yes this is required, we sent a fix as to include special characters bitfinexcom/bfx-report-ui@fd628d7
Would consider removing this requirement.
