  • I have checked for a similar issue and sure it hasn’t been reported before.

Describe the bug
When I’m using Qobuz and I have eqMac open and running, songs start playing but sometimes I can only hear audio after ~1s. This doesn’t happening if I use Qobuz without eqMac.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open eqMac with EQ on;
  2. Open Qobuz;
  3. Set the quality as highest as possible on Qobuz;
  4. Hit play on any song;
  5. Go to another album and hit play there;
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 6 until you’re able to reproduce the issue.

Expected behaviour
I should listen to Qobuz normally, without having to worry about my songs being cut off at the beginning.

Setup information:

  • Audio device used for playback: Audeze LCD-X
  • Audio transmission interface: Schiit Magni 3 + Modi 3
  • macOS Version: 14.6.1
  • eqMac Version: I’ve tested and I was able to reproduce this bug on versions older than 1.8.7. This bug has been happening as early as September of 2023.

Additional information

  • This problem seems to only happen when switching songs between albums. If I let an album play by its own, this problem doesn’t occur;
  • It is somewhat hard to replicate this issue because this it appears to happen randomly. I, however, can replicate this issue consistently enough.

Update: this seems to be only happening when changing between songs with different bitrates.

As mentioned in customer support chat, we currently can't test and don't have access to Qobuz, but I did some testing with Tidal and did not see the issue occur when switching between songs with different bitrates, so it could be a Qobuz specific issue. We'll look into this issue again when we can test it with Qobuz
