Currently, I create a subdirectory and copy all the necessary files (excluding things like .bower.jsons and the README), then zip up the contents of the subdirectory to upload to Mozilla and Google's interfaces.

It also might be nice to automate generation of the various icon PNG sizes from the SVG.

Perhaps the web-ext CLI by Mozilla would work.
