JIRA To Slack Hotkey

Description

JIRA To Slack Hotkey is a Chrome extension that allows you to quickly open slack links that are on a jira ticket, saving you time and optimizing your workflow!

Features

  • A Hotkey to Open Slack: When on a Jira ticket press cmd + shift + Y and the extention will find the first slack link on the page and open it. This will typically open the slack app directly and move you right to the conversation regarding the ticket

Installation Instructions

To install this extension in Chrome as an unpacked extension, follow these steps:

Step 1: Download the Extension

  • Download the ZIP file from this repo.
  • Unzip the file to a folder on your computer. Remember the location as you will need to access this folder later.

Step 2: Open Chrome Extension Management

  • Open the Chrome browser.
  • Enter chrome://extensions/ in the address bar to open the Extensions page.
  • Enable Developer Mode by toggling the switch at the top-right corner of the page.

Step 3: Load the Unpacked Extension

  • Click the "Load unpacked" button that appears after you enable Developer Mode.
  • Navigate to the folder where you unzipped the extension files.
  • Select the folder and click 'OK' or 'Open' (depending on your OS).

Step 4: Verify Installation

  • Verify that the extension is now listed among your Chrome extensions.
  • Ensure there's an icon for the extension in the browser toolbar, if applicable.
