We'd like better detailed info on test runs, eg w ReportNG.

A spike of this was done in #1081 and it is suggested it would be good to continue that work, but there are problems which need to be addressed there -- availability of generated reports. (This issue is just to remind us of that PR, @aledsage @jdtoy @grkvlt .)
