Description

• Question or Goal:
  Integrate NTD ridership data into the transit ridership dashboard, enhancing the functionality and utility of dashboard for stakeholders.

• Description:
  This task updates the method of integrating NTD data into the datasets that underlie the dashboard, encompassing both monthly and annual ridership data. Currently, the methodology retrieves monthly ridership data through ad-hoc imports to GCS. The intention is to switch to the version of data stored in the warehouse. The dashboard at present also lacks the integration with NTD annual ridership data. This task aims to implement and document the necessary steps and considerations for effectively incorporating both NTD monthly and annual ridership data into the dashboard.

@KatrinaMKaiser : The scripts currently impute annual ridership for operators that are missing from the monthly reporter dataset. We'd like to use the annual ridership (unlinked passenger trips, or UPT) for those operators instead.

  • Evaluation of the compatibility of NTD monthly and annual ridership data in the warehouse to the existing datasets underlying dashboard.
  • Identification of potential challenges and solutions in incorporating data.

• Metrics:

  • Evaluation of the integration of NTD data to enable access to the most recent ridership figures, ensuring up-to-date insights.
  • Verification of the integration status of NTD annual ridership dashboard compared to its previous version of dashboard.
  • Evaluation of the feasibility and effectiveness of incorporating the new update method for monthly data.

  • Documented plan outlining the updated integration process of NTD monthly and annual ridership data into the dashboard datasets.
