Question or Goal: Track a data request @hhmckay made to Traffic Ops for PeMS data.
Stakeholder: Andrew Quinn, Assistant Deputy Director of Roadway Pricing
Metric: Peak period traffic volumes for major freeways in LA County. Only need lane specific data for the 110 and 10 Express Lanes.
Research Question / Motivation: Olympic Lanes concept, which would price existing lanes (both GP and HOV) on LA County freeways. These would function as dedicated lanes for Olympic vehicles during the Games but would be open to other vehicles as a pricing pilot. The audience for the presentation for now would be Metro Senior Leadership and advocates.
Deadline: Andrew wants this for a presentation to LA Metro about Olympic lanes...by July 12.
Grain: lane-segment (between postmiles).
peak hours are 6 am - 9 am and 4 pm - 7pm
How are we defining major freeways? We could maybe do something like all SHS facilities with an interstate designation but could use a different definition if available.
Number of through lanes is available in HPMS (Highway Performance Management System) which Henry has access to. Could provide number of lanes available each freeway.
