Why does Banner only accept strings

Why does the Banner component (still) only accepts string as a child, and not other components?
I had the use case where I wanted to have a searchbar sliding in from above, for which the Banner component would've been perfect, but since it only accepts strings as children, I had to create a custom Banner component.
