1. Purpose

At the CaSS project, we believe our community should be open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, or technical preferences. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for community member behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior. We invite all community members to help us realize a safe and positive environment for everyone.

2. Expected Behavior

  • Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your fellow participants. Alert the CaSS team if you notice inappropriate behavior.
  • Participate in an authentic and active way.

3. Unacceptable Behavior

Be careful in the words that you choose. We are a community of professionals, and we conduct ourselves professionally.

  • Be kind to others.
  • Do not insult or put down other participants.
  • Harassment and other exclusionary behavior are not acceptable.

Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violent threats or language directed against another person.
  • Discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Posting sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Posting (or threatening to post) other people's personally identifying information ("doxing").
  • Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
  • Repeated harassment of others. In general, if someone asks you to stop, then stop.

4. Consequences Of Unacceptable Behavior

  • Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
  • If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the CaSS team may take any action they deem appropriate.

5. What To Do If You Witness Or Are Subject To Unacceptable Behavior

If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify the CaSS team immediately.

Harassment can be reported anonymously by emailing [email protected].
