Just wanted to update you on some work, I'm working on a PR to add topics. Here's a screenshot:

I think this is aligned with what you're looking for? Next step is for me to add headers by topic.

I'm also thinking that topics should lead for a greater desire for "pinned threads" (#51 )

I'm wondering if the RSS feed should be global, or by topic. Maybe both?

yeee love to see it!

i'm following how the topics are used over on the fish to see what i can learn about how it could, for instance, apply to merv's forum. my own thinking is that there's not enough activity to warrant multiple topics (and i also don't think the lack of topics is the cause of the low activity). in general, even though i like the idea of little niches where people specialize and live in, i don't have a good feel for forum categories and how to use them properly: other than, like, "support subforum" lol

for handling multiple feeds this is how i do it with my website (per category + one feed that collects entries across all categories) https://cblgh.org/feeds/
