Viewing data in 3D is popular these days. There is already an advert on the CCP4BB for EVAL's ability to produce a reciprocal space view of the diffraction images:
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=CCP4BB;79f38379.1806

We have this too, in the form of dials.rs_mapper, but unfortunately this is difficult to use because it produces a CCP4 map file rather than an appropriately set-up 3D viewer. It would be great if the future reciprocal lattice viewer of DUI was able to also display maps of the type produced by dials.rs_mapper in addition to the peaks produced by dials.find_spots.

See dials/dials#261, it is already possible to display rs_mapper output in uglymol
