To install DDE on your computer,
Click on the file for your operating system:
For Windows: .exe
For Mac: .dmg
For Linux: .AppImage
The clicked file will be copied to your downloads folder.
For Windows and Mac, you may have to click on it to complete installation, or that might start automatically.
For Linux, you will have to make the file executable like so:
$ chmod +x dexter_dev_env.AppImage
in order to run it.

These install files are not "signed" so you may need to click right on them,
or disable virus protection to install them.

or see the in-app release notes in the Doc pane.

Windows 10 Issue

Microsoft apparently changed a default setting for a OneDrive configuration
checkbox in a Windows 10 update in Feb or Mar 2018.
This causes DDE to not launch correctly. We recommend:

  1. Right-click the OneDrive icon on the Windows Task Bar.
  2. In the dialog box that comes up, in its right-hand column, click "Settings"
  3. In the next dialog box that comes up, click the "Settings" tab.
  4. In the "Files on Demand" section, uncheck "Save space and download files as you use them"
