Hi. First of all, thank you very much @davidchchang for writing this. I just ran this today and was able to migrate all of our customers / tickets without any issue (though I had to use php5 rather than php, as the dependency check will fail with PHP 7). This saved us a ton of time and ultimately allowed us to switch help desk software.

I noticed during the migration, however, that the v1 HelpScout API is being sunset / EOL'd in June 2019. I want to share this information as a warning to anyone looking at this in the future.

The implications of this will likely be that this migration tool breaks. There's a guide that HelpScout has published for migrating from v1 to v2.

To anyone seeing this after June 6, 2019: this tool is probably broken and may need to be updated before it will work again. Good luck!

@charukiewicz did you run across any other snags? I'm trying to fun this on my mac and am getting the error below.

[Symfony\Component\Debug\Exception\FatalErrorException]
Cannot use lexical variable $eventName as a parameter name

@dosberg I ran this on an Ubuntu EC2 instance on AWS and did not encounter that issue.

Thanks, @charukiewicz. Turns out the error was due to running it with the latest version of PHP. I did successfully get it working with PHP 5.6.
